Enfield Voluntary Action
EVA was set up and is owned and run by local organisations to support, promote and develop local voluntary and community action.
Since its formation EVA has developed a successful track record of representing and supporting local voluntary organisations.
Today, EVA provides a number of specific services:
- Training courses
- A newsletter and information bulletins
- The web portal VOICE
- The Community Learning Forum
- Community Accountancy
- Volunteering Information to individuals and to groups
- Development and funding advice to developing groups,
- Good practice advice
- Grants administration
- Input to local, regional and national policy-making on matters affecting the voluntary and community sector (vcs);
- Implementing and co-ordinating the Government’s ChangeUp programme
Enfield Community Empowerment Network (ECEN) and the Voluntary Sector Health and Social Care Group (VSHSCG), which includes a Black and Minority Ethnic sub-group, are also part of EVA. These services facilitate liaison and influence over policy by and for the local sector, in relationship to Strategic Partnerships and the statutory sector, including the Local Authority and the Health Service.
EVA currently has approximately 600 Enfield voluntary and community organisations on its mailing list. 150 of these are EVA members, with rights to nominate and elect trustees, and to vote on matters affecting EVA’s constitution, charitable objectives and accounts.
