Measuring Outcomes for Public Service Users (MOPSU) – Final report launched
This report highlights the need to measure outcomes and value for money in the widest possible way, by focusing not just on the benefit of the service delivery to the individual end user but on the wider social value created as well. The research is timely because the Government’s vision for a ‘Big Society’ includes reforming public services and enabling the voluntary and community sector (VCS) to play a greater role in public service delivery.

NCVO’s Charity Forecast Survey
NCVO’s Charity Forecast Survey Published on the 6th July show the lowest confidence levels since the survey began in 2010 with charity leaders more pessimistic than ever before about the financial future of their organisations.
111 chief executives, senior managers and trustees who responded to the survey said
The survey, carried out in May revealed that:
- 52% of respondents expected their financial situation to worsen over the next 12months
- 24% of respondents felt their financial position would improve.
- 66% of respondents felt there would be no change to staff numbers in the next three months
- 85% felt the economic conditions in the sector as a whole would be negative over the next 12 months
